Experts and companies more strongly endorse particular foods over others based on what they feel are the most important health benefits. Five superfoods that are commonly endorsed include blueberries, pomegranate juice, broccoli, avocados, and acai berries.

Blueberries are very high in antioxidants, which help protect the body against free radicals. One nutrient in blueberries can help promote urinary tract health and reduce the risk of infection. In addition, blueberries are very low in fat and are a good source of fiber. They are also easy to fit into a daily diet. Blueberries can be eaten as a snack or on cereal. One healthy way to add some blueberries into your diet is to put them on top of low fat yogurt. Blueberries can be purchased fresh or frozen, and both contain tons of healthy antioxidants.

Pomegranate juice is becoming widely known, as products containing this juice are available at health food and many grocery stores. Pomegranate juice is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants. It also has high amounts of folic acid and vitamins A and E. Various research has suggested that pomegranate juice plays a role in preventing heart disease and lowering cholesterol. The easiest way to include pomegranate juice into your diet is to drink a glass. The juice is commonly available at many grocery stores.

The next common superfood is broccoli. It has been said that broccoli has more nutrients than any other vegetable. That could be because it contains dozens of nutrients such as folic acid, calcium, fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin A.
